PIE (Public Information Exchange) has published The London Lorry Guide as the essential guide for any truck driver operating in London.
Restrictions are in place to protect the ageing roads and bridges and to improve the environment in London. The new restrictions limit the movement of vehicles over 18 tonnes at nights and weekends. Trucks are allowed to drive freely on the Excluded Road Network (ERN), but require a permit to use restricted roads. Failure to have a permit or breaching permit conditions can cost haulage companies £500 and individual drivers £100.
The London Lorry Guide has been published on behalf of London Councils to help the haulage industry navigate around the London Lorry Control Scheme.
The atlas uses Collins mapping and includes the latest revisions to the ERN scheme. It also maps out all the width, bridge height and weight restrictions on the main roads within the M25 and the top 10 bridge strikes in London.
The A4 sized atlas includes three mapping sections:
- Main road network within M25
- Central London street mapping and index
- Postcode map of Greater London
Additional features include:
- Location of speed cameras by accident hotspots
- Loading and unloading information for all 33 London Boroughs
The guide is also supported by the online mapping solution: www.londonlorrycontrol.com
